What is Custom Hero Wars?

Custom Hero Wars is a Warcraft III map developed by Duindain for the Warcraft III community.

What is the idea behind the map?
|
CHW is an attempt to address the shortcomings of similar maps from the past. It has many rich features and models, custom code and side quests from many sources in an effort to make the old style Hero Arena type map current and re-playable. How is this different from Dota or BattleTanks or "insert name" map?
|
CHW is a blending of many types of maps with the central theme being customising Heros and spells to your desires. It uses mini games quests and save and load codes to keep replayability and engagement up.

How many players does the map support?
|
CHW is a ten player map, there are two teams of up to five players per team. There is a computer player on each team acting as a team mascot.

How often is the map updated?
|
If a significant bug has been detected, or the community has requested a feature or enhancement the map will be updated. I will also release periodic updates as time goes on to enhance the map's presence and to address shortcomings and features I think might increase enjoyment for the community.

What's with all the graphs?
|
Each time the map is downloaded the system stores information about where the request came from and any other information it can to show the community of CHW who is in the community of CHW. None of the information is released and it is only used to make pretty graphs.

What's with the squirrels?
|
Squirrels are natures most perverse and hardworking mammal and a squirrel run mail system only makes sense.

I found this map on epicwar.com or at "insert site" is it hacked?
|
Maps can be edited very easily to contain cheat codes and it can't be stopped effectivily. The only way to be sure is to download from the official source for the map in question and to not spread maps that have been renamed or altered. If you see a map downloading and u know you already have it its likely the new version has been altered.
