Installing the Custom Hero Wars map is very quick and simple process.
The instructions that follow are specific to my computer and each step should be checked to make sure it makes sense on your own computer before proceeding.
First download the current version of Custom Hero Wars by clicking the Download button on the main page
Once the download is complete open the location on your computer that the map has downloaded to.
Right click on the map file and select cut
If you know where Warcraft III is installed on your computer go to that folder now and skip ahead to here, otherwise read on.
If you have a Warcraft III shortcut on the desktop right click it and select properties
In Windows XP you should be able to select the Find Target button
In Windows 7 select the Open File Location button
If you do not have a shortcut on the Desktop you can try the same steps from the start menu by selecting the properties menu of Warcraft III by right clicking on the executable link that is in the Start menu's Programs area.
If you do not have a start menu entry for Warcraft III you will have to search your computer for the installation folder manually.
After a short wait for your computer to open that folder you should now be in the installation directory of Warcraft III.
Open the Maps folder
Now the Downloads folder
Now right click in this folder and select paste
This will enable you to host (firewall and network permitting) and join Custom Hero Wars games on your local server.
To host the map open Warcraft III, login to Battle.net as usual, click the custom games button, click create game. Navigate to the Downloads folder and find the Custom Hero Wars map. It should be in the (10) section as it is a ten player map and the custom maps are organised by number of players they can host.
Enter a name for the map being hosted i.e. 'CustomHeroWars 50Kills' then Click Create game and you are done.
